Documentation
This section covers how to track affiliate performance and view sales data for store owners in the Affilitrak app. Tracking an affiliate’s progress is straightforward. To get started, navigate to the Affiliates section of the app and click on any affiliate to view their individual performance.
If you are still setting up your program, start with Programs for commission rules and use Manual orders when you need to test attribution before going live.
Each affiliate profile shows:
- Total Paid Out: Sum of all payouts made to the affiliate.
- Available for Payout: Current unpaid commission balance.
- Attributed Sales: Total order value attributed to the affiliate.
- Date joined: When the affiliate joined your program.
The affiliate profile displays all orders attributed to that affiliate:
- Order ID and date.
- Order amount.
- Commission earned.
- Order status.
Click on any order to view full details.
The affiliate profile shows payment history with:
- Date.
- Amount.
- Currency.
- PayPal ID (when the payout went through PayPal).
For payout timing, PayPal setup, and external payout records, see the Payouts guide.
Navigate to the main Home dashboard to view your affiliate program's performance at a glance.
The dashboard displays four main metrics:
- Active Affiliates: Approved, active affiliates in your program.
- Approved Referrals (30d): Revenue from approved affiliate referrals in the past 30 days.
- Pending Referrals: Count of referrals still waiting for approval or denial.
- Next Payout Amount: The total commission amount pending payment to all affiliates.
The dashboard shows a Recent activity card with pending referrals and new affiliate signups that need attention. For the full referrals list (search, pagination, approve/deny), use the Referrals page in the app nav.
On Referrals, for each referral you can typically:
- Approve: Approves the referral and adds the commission to the affiliate's payout balance.
- Deny: Denies the referral and excludes it from commission calculations.
- Undo: Reverses an approval or denial action when available.
Order detail views can include customer information, product details, commission breakdown, MLM commissions (if applicable), and timeline context.
Navigate to Affiliates > Sort by to organize your affiliate list:
- Name (A-Z): Alphabetical order by name.
- Name (Z-A): Reverse alphabetical order.
- Newest first: Most recently joined affiliates first.
- Oldest first: Longest-standing affiliates first.
- Earnings (High to low): Highest unpaid balance (To Payout) first.
- Earnings (Low to high): Lowest unpaid balance (To Payout) first.
- Check dashboard daily: Review recent activity and clear pending referrals promptly.
- Track 30-day trends: Use Approved Referrals (30d) to monitor recent performance.
- Identify partners to pay: Sort affiliates by earnings (unpaid balance) when preparing payouts.
- Review pending referrals: Keep the pending list short to maintain affiliate trust.
- Approve legitimate referrals quickly: Fast approvals encourage affiliates to promote more.
- Investigate suspicious referrals: Use the referral/order details view to review questionable attribution.
- Document denials: Keep notes on why referrals were denied for future reference.
- Use test orders wisely: Create test orders via Manual Orders to verify tracking, then keep reporting clean.
The Manual orders guide explains how to run controlled attribution tests without waiting for normal storefront traffic.
- Regular check-ins: Review individual affiliate profiles monthly to track progress.
- Compare recent vs lifetime: Use Approved Referrals (30d) on the dashboard alongside attributed sales on profiles.
- Payment history: Use payout records to verify payments were processed correctly.
- Attribution accuracy: Ensure orders are correctly attributed to the right affiliates.
